Spring Hill Ambassador Program Overview

At Spring Hill we value inclusivity in our community. We have a team of ambassadors to help welcome new families from around the world, near and far. There are two types of ambassadors: language ambassadors and family ambassadors. In both roles, we ask that ambassadors encourage new families to get involved by attending the various events at Spring Hill. It is also great to invite families to join the PTO. Below is a description of more ways our selected ambassadors can help our new families.

Language Ambassadors:

Language ambassadors are essential to help welcome new families from different cultures. They help families transition from other countries by sharing local traditions and school protocols and procedures. Language ambassadors may be called on from time to time to help translate for non-English speaking families. We also ask our language ambassadors to attend the Kindergarten Round Up in the Spring and the New Family Orientation in the Fall. At these events, we introduce each language ambassador to the families, which helps to make them feel welcome and give them a sense of our diverse community.

Family Ambassadors:

Family ambassadors will be called on to be a “buddy family” to new families. We try to match families who have children in the same class or grade. Buddy families can get together for playdates, coffee, or even attend school events together. We encourage family ambassadors to help answer any questions new families might have about the community. Many of our family ambassadors help new families get settled into the community by recommending different community resources such as sports teams to join, restaurants in the area, or any other helpful community information.

We appreciate all that our ambassadors do to help make Spring Hill inviting to all newcomers. The ambassador program is possible because of continued parent involvement and engagement in the school. This plays a vital role in making our school a great place in which our children can thrive.
