Our cafeteria serves over 800 students every day! Every grade level gets 30 minutes in the cafeteria to eat, socialize and give their brains a break during the day. During those 30 minutes, there are a lot of student needs (and trash!) that come up, and our wonderful parent volunteers help to take care of all of it.

Spring Hill has many staff members that have cafeteria duty throughout the week such as our SBTS, librarian, specialists and resource teachers so that our classroom teachers can get a well-deserved break to eat their own lunches. Our admin team is in and out of the cafeteria most of the day to check in and build relationships with students. The real backbone of our lunch periods, though, is our family volunteers! On any given day, we have 1-2 parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles in the cafeteria helping to pick up trash, facilitate student bathroom lines and open stuck thermos bottles. The students are always excited to see their family members there and can't wait to introduce them to their classmates.

It is such a huge help to have an extra set of hands during these busy periods and we would love for more family members to sign up if you're able!

If you're interested in coming in to spend 30 minutes with us in the cafeteria this year, or participating in any other volunteer opportunities, please reach out to our Family Liaison, Danielle Lasley at [email protected].
